Overcome Anything By Jason Stewart

You just never know what life will throw at you sometimes.
That’s why it’s so important to live life everyday like it’s your last day.

I know what it’s like to have somethings thrown my way that I
didn’t know how the outcome would be. In this chapter I’m going to talk about
how I had to fight cancer and how I handled it.
One day I was having a horrible pain in my left side under my
rib cage. First I thought it was just a cramping pain but it wasn’t going away.
So I went to the doctor and he thought it was gas pains so he gave me some meds
and off I went. But the pain was still there. So I gave it a week or so and
still wasn’t going away. So I went back to the doctor and he says to me to just
trust him and he really believes its just gas pains.
So three weeks go by and the pain was still there and I was
getting really concerned at this point. So I went back to the doctor and
demanded some testing to be done to find out what the real issue was.
The Doctor sent me for a CT scan “A computed tomography (CT)
scan uses X-rays to make detailed pictures of structures inside of the body.
During the test, you will lie on a table that is attached to the CT scanner,
which is a large doughnut-shaped machine. The CT scanner sends X-rays through
the body area being studied.
He also sent me for some blood work to be done and within
just a few days my doctor’s office was calling saying they needed to see me
right away. So at that point I knew they found out something was wrong. But I
was calm and knew it was just something I could handle whatever it was. I said
a prayer and gave it to God. I’m a firm believer in Jesus and know he wouldn’t
give me anything I couldn’t handle. So right after work I went straight to the
doctor’s office and I could see it in the nurse’s face something serious was
wrong. She said to me the doctor would be right in.
I sat there just thinking what could be the problem. I was thinking
it was my appendix or something like that. So the doctor came in and I could
see it on his face that it wasn’t good.
So he started to tear up and telling me about the test
results.  He said the CT scan had showed
cancer had spread all threw lymph nodes and said he said my diagnosis he
thought was I had Lymphoma. I had no clue what kind of cancer that was but
never was concerned either. I was prepared to meet my maker to tell you the
truth. I know this life is just temporary.
I was calm and not scared and I think that shocked my doctor
to tell you the truth. I think he was more concerned than I was at that time.
So I asked him what the plan? He said he was going to send me for a biopsy and
send me to a cancer specialist. So he left the room to set everything up and I
just looked up and said God I know this is a test and I trust in you. Whatever
I have to go through its ok I know its all part of your plan. I just know God
has big plans for my life through all of this I know it’s just to form me to be
the man God wants me to be.
So the doctor came back in the room and gave me the next
steps and said everything is setup.
I went home and told my wife what the doctor had told me and
of course she was scared and googled Lymphoma. This is what she had found
What is Lymphoma?
Lymphoma is the name for a group of blood
cancers that start in the lymphatic system or the Lymph nodes or glands. The
lymphatic system is part of the body’s immune system – the body’s defense
against infection. The marrow and lymphocytes are part of the immune system.
Some other parts of the immune system are the lymph nodes, the lymphatic
vessels, which connect the lymph nodes and contain lymph (a liquid that carries
lymphocytes), and the spleen. Lymphomas generally start in lymph nodes or
lymphatic tissue in sites of the body such as the stomach or intestines.
Lymphomas may involve the marrow and the blood in some cases.
Lymphoma is a type of blood cancer that occurs
when lymphocytes–white blood cells that help protect the body from infection
and disease–begin behaving abnormally. Abnormal lymphocytes may divide faster
than normal cells or they may live longer than they are supposed to.
Because lymphatic tissue is in many parts of
the body, Hodgkin lymphoma can start almost anywhere. Usually, it’s first found
in a lymph node above the diaphragm, the thin muscle that separates the chest
from the abdomen. But Hodgkin lymphoma also may be found in a group of lymph
nodes. Sometimes it starts in other parts of the lymphatic system.
Lymphoma may develop in many parts of the
body, including the lymph nodes, spleen, bone marrow, blood, or other organs.
Hodgkin lymphoma begins when a lymphocyte (usually a B cell) becomes abnormal.
The abnormal cell is called a Reed-Sternberg cell.
My wife was freaked out on what she had found out on the
internet. But I said I don’t want to see anything about it God has a plan on
this and I trust in him have faith. So I went and told my family and friends
and they was all concerned as well but very supportive. So many people was
praying for me that was the most important thing at the time for me because God
is in control not anything in this world.

I went for my biopsy and have to say that was a scariest
thing that really scared me was to see the needle they had to stick in my back
to get to the one lymph nodes that had the cancer in it. I hate needles and I
hate snakes… But didn’t feel a thing after they numbed it of course. So a few
days went by till I got the results back from my test.
I do my best to stay positive and surround myself with
positive people but is very hard to find positive people in this world today.
That’s the main reason I enjoy the network marketing so much is for the fact
most of people that are in network marketing are very positive and inspiring
people. The facts is “You become who you hang around”
I am grateful for all the people who was praying for me
because God answer’s as you are about to see.
So I got to meet my Cancer doctor and to be able to move
forward and find out what the plan would be. He begins to tell me that the
cancer wasn’t as bad as they thought. It had spread through my lymph nodes but
this was very beatable. He went on to explain what kind of cancer I had was

testicular Seminoma.
 Treatment of testicular
cancer may depend on the kind of cells involved. There are many types of cells
found in the testicles, all of which can become cancerous. However, there are
two main types of tumors that account for the majority of testicular cancers:

Seminoma: There are two sub-types of seminomas, and the
classical (typical) seminomas are more likely to occur in men between ages of
30 and 50. Spermatocytes seminomas are less common and are found more
frequently in men 55 years and older. However, both types of seminoma tumors
may occur in all age groups.
Testicular cancer may involve one or both kinds of tumors. Stromal
tumors are sometimes referred to as gonadal stromal tumors. This is a rare form
of testicular cancer, accounting for only about five percent of cases. In
addition to producing sperm for reproduction, the testicles, or male gonads,
are also a component of the endocrine system, a series of hormone-producing
glands. The stromal cells in the testes produce male sex hormones (androgens),
like testosterone. Most stromal tumors are benign; that is, the tumor cells
typically do not spread (metastasize) to other parts of the body. However,
stromal tumors that do spread sometimes do not respond to conventional
treatments, like chemotherapy or radiation.

So as you can see this was a more beatable kind of cancer. I
believe 100% that God had answered with this diagnosis.
My doctor’s plan was to have me do chemotherapy and have my testicle
removed. Sounds simple right? Well it was a long way from that let me tell you.

So things moved very quickly after the meeting with the
doctor. I had to meet with an urologist to determine what testicle the cancer
had started in and needed removed. No need to go in to them details.
 The day after
Christmas in 2011 I was put in the hospital for one week to start my chemotherapy.
For the first few days I went through the treatment I couldn’t stand getting
the chemo put threw my IV so I decided to have a port put in. A port is a small
disc made of plastic or metal about the size of a quarter that sits just under
the skin. A soft thin tube called a catheter connects the port to a large vein.
Your chemotherapy medicines are given through a special needle that fits right
into the port. You also can have blood drawn through the port. This just seemed
like a better option to me. So when they was doing the port I asked to be put
to sleep during the procedure and wouldn’t you know it I woke up while it was
being done. I freaked out and asked to be put back under but they wouldn’t do
it they just said they was almost done. It was a lot of pressure and a lot of
tugging on my chest. I hated every minute of it and not really sure how long it
took but seemed like forever. But even though I hated going through that it was
a good decision because I still had a long road ahead.

Going through chemo was very tough. I had to go a week on and
then I would have a week off from it. This went on for 3 months. I had no
energy felt sick all the time and lost all of my hair on my entire body. It was
like I was dying to tell you the truth. We went out to dinner one time and I
feel so bad for what happened next for the people who had to clean up the mess
from me getting sick in the restroom. I cleaned up what I could with paper
towels but it wasn’t pleasant let me tell you. That was the last time I left
the house other than going to my treatments.
Doing Chemotherapy I thought I would lose a bunch of weight
but I really did the opposite I gained 30 pounds because of the steroids they
had me on.
Going through all of this Chemo I would still get up at 5 in
the morning and spend time with God. I would read the bible, Meditate, and
watch church online. I grew very close to God during these hard times and have
to say I was feeling much better after doing these things. I still had no
energy but I wasn’t getting sick anymore at least. I enjoyed my morning times
with the lord. He gave me strength to go through all of this with no fear. You
have to stay positive through anything that might come your way and if you do I
believe you will make it through anything.
I’m done with chemo it was a long 3 months but I made it. Now
it was time for the next step to be done. Having my testicle removed.

WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE PROCEDURE?

The surgery is done at a surgery center or hospital.

In most cases you will be given local or regional anesthesia
to keep you from feeling pain during the procedure. Local or regional anesthesia
numbs part of your body while you stay awake. You may also be given medicine to
help you relax.

Your healthcare provider will make cuts (incisions) in your
groin and remove the testicles. Your provider will then close the cut.

You can ask your provider to insert a saline-filled
replacement (prosthesis) for the testicles in your scrotum to give the look and
feel of a normal scrotum.

The procedure usually takes about 1 hour.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE PROCEDURE?

After the surgery you may stay in a recovery area for at
least a few hours and then you can usually go home.

Follow your healthcare provider's instructions to keep the
wounds clean and dry. Wash your hands before and after touching the wounds.
Wear loose fitting clothing to keep from irritating the incisions.

Ask your healthcare provider:

How long it will take to recover
What activities you should avoid, including lifting, and when
you can return to your normal activities

So after this was done I had to wait for my incision to heal
before I could get my final test to be done and tell me if I was cancer free! A
few weeks went by and the day had come to have my cat scan and blood work to be
done so I could find out is all of what I went threw had worked. I knew I was
cancer free just the feeling I had and believe God was telling me that. Threw
all of this I wasn’t scared God was there for me and even though it was tough
times in my life God came through for me. I have been cancer free for 4 years
know and I feel I will be the rest of my life. This was my wake up call to
fulfill my purpose in this life until God calls me home.

When I was 12 years old I had a dream that till this day I
still remember parts of the dream. I was on a stage talking to a lot of people
I mean thousands of people I’m really not sure why I was talking to them but I
feel I was put here to inspire people in this negative world but I still feel
this dream is going to come true someday but it will be on Gods time. I have a
purpose and God will reveal that purpose to me when the time is right.
I feel I was lead to Network Marketing for a reason and maybe
this is my purpose in this life. To inspire people to be positive, help people
overcome the bad things of this world and to know you can change your life for
the better and stop going through the motions of life and start living it. Or
maybe this is just part of Gods plan to make me the positive person he wants me
to be.
This was just one of the struggles I have went through in my
life but there has been nothing so far me or my family that God hasn’t been
there for us and gave us the strength to get through. “God is Great all the
time”
